Pedaling the Prairie is a non-competitive bike ride held annually in Katy,
Texas, to benefit the athletic department of Faith West Academy.
This year’s ride is on Saturday, Feb 14, 2009. Start time is at 7:30 a.m.from
the Katy Mills Mall Sun & Ski parking lot on the east side of the mall at 5000
Katy Mills Circle, Katy, TX 77494.
Ride in comfort knowing that there will be breakpoints every 10 – 15 miles.
Refreshments will be provided at all breakpoints to keep you hydrated and
energized. Your safety and well-being is our major concern, as we will have
well planned routes, police escorts through major intersections, and
mechanical and medical support at the rest stops. SAG vehicles and ride
Marshall support will also be included.
The ride travels along several courses ranging from a 25-mile beginner ride to
over a 100-mile endurance ride. The different routes take you around the
Katy, Fulshear, San Felipe, and Brookshire areas. You can expect to
experience the prairie, rolling meadows, some hills even, and rural flatlands.
